Tips for getting started

I've found the best way to get started is to first create a data model using the ER diagramming tool in Visual Studio, generate the database and then load it into the Mo+ solution builder. That way, all of the dependencies and references are properly initialized and you can then leverage the built-in model structure to maximum benefit. If you try to do it from scratch (at least in the beginning), you'll likely omit something important that will cause problems when generating code.

That is definitely a good approach and one that I generally use, creating the source db from tools that provide full validation capability, and loading that info into the Mo+ solution model. Mo+ model validation is limited by design, as you might want to use the solution model for something other than enterprise software with a corresponding db, etc.
